About Me

What else is a blog for but to share your thoughts and opinions. I strive for balance in my life. I have so many interests, and so many things that are important to me. I’m blessed to be surrounded by so many things that I love (and that love me back). Hopefully, I’ll be able to succeed in everything that I do.

I recently launched my website. If you care to look, please visit http://www.azroykandan.com.

I also have another blog with stories about my two kids, Melur and Arman. My wife and I have been blogging here since we arrived in Vancouver in the Fall of 2006. Check out http://gokun2.blogspot.com.

I’m currently working for a company that provides a web-based school management / administration system for private schools called QuickSchools.Com. Be sure to check them out as well. I wrote a short post about it as well here.

Prior to that, my first job in Canada is with Vancouver-based ShowTimeTickets.Com, which is an industry leading full service ticket agency, offering personalized service with the largest inventory of the most sought after tickets for all major Sports, Concerts and Theatre events worldwide.

I’ve also spent several years working with a high-tech start-up called Maestro Solutions specializing in advanced planning and optimization solutions. Maestro’s optimalOne™ software enables organizations to run efficiently under aggressive competition, uncertain global events and new industry-wide regulations. Incidentally, QuickSchools.Com is built on the optimalOne™ platform, and I’m working on developing this product in the North America market.

Finally, a shout out to my first employer that started it all for me, after graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Cornell UniversitySapient Corporation. They introduced me to software development, despite my academic training in another field. They know how to work had and play hard (at least when I was there). They have a strong passion for growth (which is important to me), and deploy cutting-edge technologies to achieve measurable results. I learned a lot from them.

And that’s me in a nutshell.
